Inside Kenya’s Quack Doctor Crisis.

Why Traceability Can Save Lives.

Kenya has been facing a growing crisis with fake doctors and unlicensed medical workers operating in hospitals, clinics and even private homes. These so-called professionals put lives at risk by giving wrong treatments, counterfeit prescriptions and sometimes even carrying out dangerous procedures. Many patients fall into their hands unknowingly, often trusting them just because they wear white coats or have a desk in a clinic.

This crisis is not just about bad people pretending to be doctors it also shows how weak our systems can be when it comes to checking and confirming who is allowed to treat patients. Without proper checks in place, it becomes hard to know if a doctor is truly qualified, if a clinic is registered or if medicines being given are genuine and safe.

This is where traceability comes in.

This is where traceability comes in. When healthcare workers, facilities and medical supplies can be tracked and verified from the source, it becomes easier to keep the fake ones out. Patients can feel safer knowing that their doctor is certified and the medicine they receive is registered and approved. Authorities can also act faster when something goes wrong because there’s a clear record of where things came from.

In a country where lives depend on access to honest and skilled care, traceability is one of the strongest tools we can use to protect people from harm and bring back trust in the health system.
