Greening Today, Feeding Tomorrow.
In many semi-arid areas of Kenya, growing food is not easy. The land is dry and water is hard to find. That is why the Kerio Valley Development Authority (KVDA) has started a tree planting campaign to help improve food security. These trees will protect the soil, provide shade and help keep more water in the ground all of which supports better farming.

But planting trees is just the beginning. To make sure this campaign really works, we need to track the progress and that is where traceability comes in. With traceability, we can monitor where trees are planted, how they are growing and if they are helping farmers produce more food. It helps us measure success and learn what works best.
This smart tracking system will also make it easier to report to partners and attract support from others. In the end, traceability gives KVDA the tools to grow not just trees, but stronger farms and healthier communities.
