Kenyans Ditching Middlemen to Import Directly from China

The Growing Trend of Direct Sourcing from China.

Many Kenyans are now choosing to import goods directly from China instead of going through middlemen. With the rise of online platforms and shipping services, it has become easier and sometimes cheaper to get products straight from the source. This shift is helping small business owners and individuals save money and get better control over what they order.

But while direct importing has its benefits, it also comes with risks. Without the right checks, it is hard to know if the goods are genuine, safe or ethically made. This is where traceability becomes very important. Traceability means being able to track where a product comes from, how it was made and who handled it along the way. It gives buyers confidence and helps avoid scams, poor-quality items or even unsafe materials.

As Kenyans take charge of their own supply chains, understanding and demanding traceability will make direct importing not just smarter but safer too.
